Isabel M. Hidrobo

Isabel M. Hidrobo has over 13 years of experience in the field of immigration law. As an expert in the field, she has successfully managed her own practice since 2008. She advises clients ranging from multinational corporations to small start-ups and individuals in connection with the temporary and permanent employment of foreign nationals in the fields of fashion, arts, and entertainment. Isabel received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she majored in Economics and Comparative Area Studies. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School in Washington, DC.

She is fluent in Spanish, and proficient in French and Portuguese.

Isabel is admitted to practice in New York and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.

Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts is a Senior Associate Attorney with over ten years of experience in the field of immigration. She specializes in the areas of business immigration, advising corporations and individuals on a wide range of nonimmigrant and immigrant categories. Emma has worked collaboratively with many of the top ranked entertainment agencies across the United States, Europe, Canada and Australia, as well as with Fortune 500 companies in the United States.

Emma graduated from Northumbria University, England with First Class Honors and was called to the bar of England and Wales in 2009. She is admitted to practice in New York State. She holds a Post Graduate Certificate in International Business from St. Mary’s University, Twickenham/Mountbatten Program.

Silvia Gacina

Silvia Gacina has over ten years of experience in immigration law. She focuses on advising clients on complex areas of work authorization and immigrant visas, including employment-based and family-based immigrant visa petitions, as well as non-immigrant visa services for individuals with extraordinary ability in the arts and creative fields. 

Prior to joining The Law Office of Isabel M. Hidrobo, Silvia served as Legal Counsel at a boutique talent management company in New York, where she led the company’s legal department and handled a wide array of issues including contract negotiation, employment matters and immigration compliance. She also represented talent and company employees in business immigration and employment issues before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the U.S. Department of Labor, and at U.S. embassies/consulates around the world. Her early legal career includes practicing at several New York-based mid-sized law firms in the areas of intellectual property, employment law, entertainment law, and immigration.

As someone who has been through the immigration system herself, Silvia is intimately familiar with the challenges immigrants are facing whether applying for work authorization, green cards, and ultimately, U.S. citizenship. She is thus passionate about advising clients in navigating the complex areas of employment and family-based petition procedures as well as naturalization. 

Silvia received her law degree from the Faculty of Law of The University of Rijeka in Croatia, as well as Master of Laws from Fordham University School of Law in New York where she specialized in intellectual property and entertainment law studies. She is admitted to practice in New York.

Eliza Hess

Eliza Hess has worked in the legal field since 2001, initially practicing as an intellectual property and commercial lawyer in Australia and subsequently working as a senior paralegal and legal consultant in the U.S. immigration law field since 2008.

Eliza has specific expertise in preparing E-3 visa applications for Australian nationals in specialty occupations and O-1 visa applications for foreign nationals of extraordinary ability in the creative and business fields. She is also skilled in a variety of other applications including marriage-based Green Card applications, naturalization (citizenship) applications, and visa applications for trainees and interns, business visitors, domestic workers, foreign media representatives, intra-company transferees, and Diversity Visa Lottery selectees. Eliza offers a highly personalized service tailored to the needs, goals and background of each client.

With her work in immigration law focusing on creative individuals and enterprises, Eliza has married her passion for the arts with her lifelong interest in immigration matters stemming from her personal experience as a refugee migrant from Poland to Australia in the early 1980s, and her experience of expat living in Japan, England and the United States. She brings a particular empathy to her work from her understanding of the immigration process from both a legal and personal point of view and genuinely enjoys helping people to realize their dreams of living and working in the United States.

Eliza received her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Queensland in Australia. She holds a Master of Laws degree from Columbia University in New York, where she specialized in the study of copyright and entertainment law as the recipient of the Robert J. Burton Memorial Fellowship. She is admitted to law practice in New South Wales and Queensland, Australia. She works under the supervision of the firm’s senior attorneys in matters of US immigration law.

Eliza is fluent in English and Polish, and has a basic understanding of Japanese.

Hodan Mohamoud

Hodan Mohamoud is a lawyer at the Law Office of Isabel M. Hidrobo, P.C., where she assists individuals and businesses seeking to obtain a variety of immigration benefits. She has experience in preparing O-1 visa applications and National Interest Exception waivers for foreign nationals of extraordinary ability in the creative fields. Hodan received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she majored in History. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She is admitted to practice in Georgia.

Twana Kennedy

Senior Paralegal Twana Kennedy has 10 years of experience in immigration law that spans across a variety of visa categories. She brings a unique level of experience to The Law Office of Isabel Hidrobo having spent several years working at a leading global modeling agency. Twana received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University.
